Jonah & Christine open the program with the tempestuous and romantic Sonata for Cello and Piano by Samuel Barber. Next, ESF is joined by the talented young winners of its first annual student competition. The string winners join for the first movement of Tchaikovsky’s Souvenirs de Florence, and the pianist joins for the dramatic first movement of Schumann’s Piano Quartet. The program closes with the audience favorite Mendelssohn Piano Trio in D minor, performed by Jonah, Christine, and SF Symphony’s wonderful new violinist Elina Lev. Tickets available here.
